Middlebury/VT 125 Closed from 17-18 Jun 2014

VT Route 125/College Street in the Town of Middlebury will be closed (and completely impassable by any vehicles) starting at 6:00 AM on Tuesday 17 Jun 2014, through 7:00 PM on Wednesday 18 Jun 2014.

Middlebury College is replacing a section of steam pipe crossing under the road, and both lanes must be trenched across at the same time, completely shutting off the road.

The Town of Middlebury and State of Vermont Agency of Transportation permits for the road closure and detour are in place.

There is a traffic control and detour plan which details where the road will be completely closed, closed to through traffic, and detoured. The actual trench will cut through College Street across from Forest Hall (between Chateau Road and Hepburn Road).

Message boards are currently in place and activated at the rotary in Middlebury and at the Route 22A/Route 125 intersection to provide normal commuters advance notice. On the days of the actual closure, traffic control personnel will be staged at the three locations indicated on the plan, to assist the traveling public with the detour.

Middlebury College is sending an “email blast” through their system, and posting on their web page. I understand Ted Dunakin has asked Chris English to do the same for the Town of Middlebury’s email list and web page. Middlebury College is posting a notice in the Addison Independent.

Please do not hesitate to contact Carl Crawford (crawford@ottercrk.com) or Tom McGinn ( tmcginn@middlebury.edu) at Middlebury College with any concerns.
