Town Zoning Administrator, New Haven, VT

Objective: The Zoning Administrator is charged with the primary duty of impartially, uniformly, and accurately applying the land use ordinances for the Town of New Haven, Vermont.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist townspeople with zoning and permit applications.
  • Issue letters of compliance, issue zoning permits, and enforce conditions of approval.
  • Assist the New Haven Planning Commission in developing and amending land use regulations and the Town Plan.
  • Assist the New Haven Development Review Board (DRB) in reviewing and issuing decisions on land development proposals.
  • Work with Legal Counsel in the formalization of DRB decisions and appeals and with Zoning Regulation Amendments.
  • Research and investigate Zoning Bylaw violations.
  • Coordinate scheduling of Town warnings with the Town Clerk.

Community Planning and Capacity Building Reservist Team, FEMA

The mission of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Community Planning and Capacity Building (CPCB) cadre is to facilitate support to enable local governments to effectively and efficiently carry out community-based disaster recovery planning and management in a post-disaster environment. After a disaster, CPCB team members coordinate support among federal, state and non-governmental partners to assist states and localities with capacity building. CPCB also works with states to engage localities to offer consultation, training, and technical assistance. Examples of CPCB support activities include planning and recovery management education, peer-to-peer forums and workshops and recovery planning technical assistance.
