ACRPC coordinates various safety studies with municipalities and VTrans to address roadway safety concerns with;
- Road Safety Audit Reviews (RSAR): a report which evaluates safety concerns and recommends strategies to improve them at specified locations. Issues that should be addressed in the report ought to include; 1. Aspects of a safety concern in or around the roadway, and 2. Opportunities to mitigate or eliminate identified safety concerns. - High Risk Rural Roads Program (HRRR): VTrans generally conducts two HRRR studies per year in the Addison County RPC region, which recommends signage and marking improvements for an identified section of roadway. The program also covers the purchase and installation of the improvements at no expense to the municipality. [more information]
